My First Logo...
Short Story . Trivia . Past Experience . Fun Fact
This was the first logo I designed in Adobe Illustrator for my brother's bubble tea shop. "Bubble Refreshment Bar" was among the first boba tea shop opened in Mauritius. My brother did a draft of the logo using Publisher but required the logo in vector format as requested by the polo-shirt factory.
This was when I was introduced to Adobe Illustrator. Being a new user of this design software, I learnt and researched on how to best optimise the use of the software's tools and functionalities through the web and YouTube tutorial videos. After many "minus fronts", "divides" & "unites" and undos, I managed to successfully design my first logo in Ai!
This experience was the spark that lit up my passion for design.

Food Sensei
Branding . Logo Design . Visual ID . 2015 - 2023
Established in 2015, Food Sensei is one of the first Asian Fusion restaurant to open in Mauritius. Unlike most Asian restaurants in the country, it is young, modern and innovative.
It was important to reflect the modernity of the brand without losing the Asian authenticity while emphasising the "Sensei' concept. A series of Japanese illustrations were created to reflect the Japanese concept in the Visual ID.
A mascot logo was designed to represent both the "Sensei" and attributes of the Asian culture.

BRANDING & STRATEGIES
FIG Capital
Conceptualisation . Logo Design . Branding . Visual ID . 2018
Head of a group of companies, FIG Capital was quite discreet since its existence. It is in 2018 that the founders have decided to mark its presence by officially branding it.
"FIG" is the abbreviation for "Facts Investment Group". Facts is an accounting company which is part of the group. The Christian founders wished to highlight the word "fig" as an illustrative reminder of the unfruitful barren tree mentioned in the Bible , so the company aim not to be so but be fruitful.
Taking these information into consideration, the logo was designed to be simple but meaningful.

Dive in the web...
Short Story . Trivia . Past Experience . Fun Fact
As a Millennial, I had access to the internet in my teenage years and even if surfing the web was not at its best, it was still exciting to explore the world in a click.
In 2016, I had the opportunity to be part of an online shopping platform project as an apprentice. This is how I dived in the world of web design and explored the amazing and nearly endless possibilities of web designing.
Today, I look forward in being officially recognised as a professional designer and dream to be awarded for my web designs.

Food Sensei
Web Design . UI & UX Design . Digital Artworks
The creation of Food Sensei's official website. As an Asian Fusion restaurant, the owners required only 3 main sections for their website. Namely: 1. About us 2. Menu 3. Contact us
The menu was constantly changing, thus a simple link to a PDF menu was requested by the owners to avoid the need to constantly update the website. Same was requested for the contact page as Facebook was their preferred means of communication.
It was designed to be entertaining and interactive. View

Less is more...
Short Story . Trivia . Past Experience . Fun Fact
In 2015, I designed my first poster for my brother's bubble tea shop. Back then, I thought adding more graphics would make the poster look more appealing but now I do not believe it was right. With time as I matured and gained more experience in designing various projects, I learnt about the importance of using appropriate number of variances in colour tones, spacing and accents when designing.
To the right is a 2023 comparative illustration version to the 2015 poster I originally designed.

STUDIO WORKS
Telescopic...
Short Story . Fun Fact . Trivia . Past Experience
Meet my Tripod'scope!
Photography was undoubtedly part of the process of designing posters, digital artworks and more. As I was just debuting, I had a low budget but required a tripod for proper photo angles. So I looked around the house for something similar and found an old unused telescope. I disassembled it and tried to make it fit my camera. I also decorated it with some GoPro stickers that I had to make it look more professional.
It worked! 00
